Between the dry Kalahari and the more moderate bushveld lies the Pilansberg. It is beautiful bushveld with striking hues, varied habitats, ancient landscapes and prolific wildlife.
The waving grasslands and wooded valleys complement the perfect African safari picture.
This atmospheric scenery of an early evening with the warm glow of the setting sun over the treetops was something I wanted to paint because the bushveld is near and dear to my heart. A giraffe waiting in the grass for his friend who’s enjoying the leaves of trees behind him just adds more life to this peaceful scene.
