As the first of two commissions, painting these iconic and colorful creatures has been another treasured journey for me. Nguni cattle are renowned for their fertility, resilience to diseases, light tolerance and are capable of handling extreme weather conditions. Peacefully browsing in these stripped wheat fields of the Swartland, they make for a beautiful sight indeed.
